One suggestion was to undo the initial keypad identification step, or otherwise uninstall whatever drivers that got installed. I have read many online posts already on that model of keypad & other targus keypads. In that environment, the keypad acts as if numlock is off so that the keys move the cursor (ie 4=left, 8=up, 6=right, 2=down, etc) instead of giving me numbers. However the real reason I purchased it was so I can punch in numbers through excel (2010) when I run Win7 (SP1) using VMW Fusion.

With that done, the keypad works within the mac environment as expected. It then asked me to choose whether this is ANSI, Japanese or some other, and I chose ANSI. But of course there is no shift key since this is a numeric keypad. When initially plugged into my macbook pro, he o/s asked me to identify the keypad by clicking the key to the right of the shift key. I want to uninstall whatever drivers that might have been installed by plugging this in and start over to see if it can be made to work completely. I just purchased a Targus numeric keypad model AKP10CA.
